Now Hiring: Rates Officer | Local Council

Location: Parramatta, NSW

3-Month initial Contract | Up to $53.90/hr (inclusive of super)

We are seeking an experienced Rates Officer to join its collaborative Finance Team

What you will do: Deliver a high-quality, customer-focused rates and revenue service

Process and reconcile rate payments, adjustments, and exemptions

Review pensioner rebate verifications and rate category changes

Provide accurate data and reports to internal and external stakeholders

Support process improvement and continuous service optimisation

What we're looking for:

Certificate qualification in business, accounting, or bookkeeping

Minimum 3 years' experience in a local government rates & revenue environment

Strong communication, analytical, and customer service skills

Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and finance systems

Ability to manage deadlines and work autonomously

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys detail-oriented adminsitration work in a finance team, thrives under time pressure, and values making a difference within the community.
