As a Lecturer in Construction Management and Technology, you'll have the opportunity to make a significant impact on both teaching and research. You'll engage with an international student body, delivering innovative learning experiences at undergraduate and graduate levels. Your research will contribute to advancing sustainable building practices and construction technologies, with the potential to collaborate across disciplines and with industry partners.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and Deliver High-Quality Teaching: Create and teach engaging subjects in construction management and technology at undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Conduct Impactful Research: Produce high-quality publications and participate in research projects, seeking external funding opportunities.
  • Supervise and Mentor Students: Guide undergraduate, graduate, and research higher degree students in their academic journey.
  • Contribute to Faculty Growth: Participate in curriculum development, administrative tasks, and initiatives to strengthen industry and academic partnerships.

You may be a great fit if:

You are a passionate educator and researcher with a PhD in a relevant field, demonstrating excellence in teaching and research in construction management and technology, with the ability to engage students and contribute to the faculty's interdisciplinary culture.

You may also:

  • Have completed or be near completion of a relevant PhD.
  • Possess excellent teaching skills and experience in undergraduate and graduate education.
  • Demonstrate research excellence through quality publications or industry collaborations.
  • Show potential for initiating and participating in collaborative research programmes.
  • Have strong academic administration skills and willingness to take on various roles.
  • Exhibit the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and external stakeholders.

The Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning is the leading educational and research institution in the Asia-Pacific region addressing the design and realisation of inhabited environments. The Faculty actively seeks to extend the linkages between education, research and practice in the built environment, and maintains excellent and extensive relationships with members of the built environment professions, government, professional associations and the wider community.

The Faculty has over 200 staff and 4000 students, one third of whom are international. It is responsible for the University's undergraduate Bachelor of Design degree, and offers majors in architecture, landscape architecture, property, construction, and urban planning.

The Faculty's graduate school, the Melbourne School of Design teaches accredited masters courses across the professional disciplines of Architecture, Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, Property, Urban Design and Urban Planning.
