The Sydney Insurance Practice is highly regarded, offering expertise across several specialist areas. This is an opportunity to work alongside experienced partners and be part of a close-knit, supportive team.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity exists for a motivated lawyer to join the Insurance team in Sydney. Working closely with partners, you'll focus on
financial lines and construction matters
while also gaining exposure to
reinsurance and regulatory issues
. This role offers direct client access, collaboration with colleagues nationally, and the chance to build a well-rounded insurance practice.

What you'll be doing:

  • Advising insurer and insured clients on complex financial lines and construction-related matters
  • Handling coverage disputes, indemnity, and policy interpretation issues
  • Assisting on reinsurance and regulatory elements
  • Drafting legal advice, preparing court documents, and managing litigation
  • Supporting and mentoring junior lawyers (for Senior Associate level)
  • Building strong client relationships and contributing to the team's continued growth

What we're looking for:

  • 3+ years' PQE in insurance or commercial litigation
  • Experience or strong interest in
    financial lines and/or construction insurance
  • Excellent legal and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and ability to add value to clients
  • Interest in broadening expertise across additional classes of insurance and reinsurance
