The opportunityAs an integral part of the Finance and Investments Group, this is a key opportunity for a skilled and motivated risk professional to lead the implementation and continuous improvement of ReturnToWorkSA's Risk Management Framework and embed a strong, proactive risk culture across the organisation.
The positionAs the successful candidate, you will work closely with leaders and the Board to strengthen risk capability as well as maintaining your own awareness of key and emerging risks across the organisation and industry. You will also provide ongoing risk management advice to the Digital Transformation Office for the duration of the Digital Transformation Program (DTP) and support the project sponsor (Chief Executive Officer) by establishing a mechanism to elevate critical program risks in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Lead the development, review and implementation of ReturnToWorkSA's Risk Management Framework and facilitate regular reviews of Risk Appetite Statement and Enterprise Risk Register.
- Design and implement risk reporting for Executive Leadership, Board Audit and Risk Committee, and the Board.
- Maintain awareness of key and emerging risks across the organisation, and report on ReturnToWorkSA's risk profile as required.
- Collaborate with other business units to facilitate regular reviews of business unit Operational Risk Registers.
- Prepare and present high-quality risk reports and papers to key governance bodies.
- Develop and deliver risk training, awareness initiatives and workshops to promote a strong risk culture.
- Provide ongoing risk advice to the Digital Transformation Office throughout the program.
- Support the DTP Sponsor (CEO) by maintaining processes for escalation and response to critical risks.
- Report on risk to the DTP Steering Committee and Board Technology Committee.
- Facilitate DTP risk register reviews and stakeholder engagement.
- Deliver risk training tailored to DTP staff.
- Track and report on risk control implementation across the program.
This role will be offered as a full-time fixed term position of 12 months.
About youAs the ideal candidate, you will bring:
- Proven experience in risk management, ideally within a regulated or government environment, or qualifications in law, risk, governance, or a related discipline (essential).
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and build effective relationships across all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills focused on risk management, compliance and continuous improvement.
- High level of organisational skills, with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail.
- Knowledge of ISO 31000 Risk Management – Guidelines (desirable).

Corporate Risk Advisor PD - Finance and Investments - August
The salary range for this position is aligned with the Mercer CED Job Evaluation framework. The final offer will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications, skills and experience.
