As a SHEQ Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in championing a culture of safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement across the business. You'll provide expert guidance and hands-on support to elevate Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (SHEQ) performance at all levels.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead audits and reviews of SOPs and Risk Assessments, promoting awareness across teams
• Develop and maintain SHEQ systems that ensure compliance and enhance performance
• Provide expert advice on Health & Safety matters, aligning with regulatory and stakeholder requirements
• Support field teams through regular site visits, coaching, and mentoring
• Build strong, trusted relationships with crews through open, approachable communication

Note: This role includes approx. 25% field-based work across the Southwest Interconnect region of WA.

What we're looking for:

We're seeking a qualified and professional SHEQ Advisor who brings a strong track record, relevant expertise, and a collaborative mindset to the team, along with:

• A qualification in Health and Safety, Risk Management, or a related discipline — or equivalent hands-on experience with a strong foundation in SHEQ practices
• Outstanding interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the business
• Proven problem-solving capabilities, with a track record of implementing practical, results-driven SHEQ initiatives that improve safety outcomes
• Experience in power systems, overhead distribution, or transmission is highly regarded, though not essential
• A natural communicator and motivator, with the ability to connect with teams and inspire a proactive safety culture

The scope of work will include the delivery of maintenance services across Western Power's transmission, distribution network and the maintenance of large complex assets, whilst servicing customers in city centres, regional and remote communities.
