We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive HSEQ Advisor to join our team and support our operational teams to drive health, safety, environmental and quality initiatives across our projects.

Role Overview:

We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive HSEQ Advisor to join our team on a full-time basis, FIFO ex-Perth on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster. This is a hands-on role with variety, responsibility and the opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement and culture development across multiple projects.

In this role, you will play a key part in providing advice, coaching, guidance and support to operational leaders and personnel in driving the implementation and continuous improvement of our health, safety, environmental and quality management practices on projects through implementation, monitoring and improvement, all while engaging with project and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing support to the HSEQ Manager, Operational Leaders, and site-based personnel to achieve site specific health, safety, environment and quality compliance goals and outcomes aligned with project requirements, the Action Drill & Blast HSEQ Management System and HSEQ Strategic Approach.
  • Providing technical advice to project teams based on statutory and health, safety, environment and quality requirements and industry expectations.
  • Providing support and assistance for project leaders and employees in meeting their health, safety, environmental and quality obligations.
  • Providing advice and support in the ongoing maintenance and implementation of project health, safety, environment, and quality management plans, operational risk assessments and project documentation.
  • Acting in accordance and demonstrating the requirements of all Action Drill & Blast Policies, Standards, Procedures and Plans relevant to their role.
  • Engaging in proactive activities in the ongoing development and continual improvement of the HSEQ Management System.
  • Conducting regular workplace inspections and field interactions to influence workplace cultural behaviour.
  • Assisting with the facilitation of team-based risk assessments.
  • Facilitating incident investigations and identifying corrective actions to causal factors.
  • Working with the project leaders to communicate HSEQ needs to the workforce on the job.
  • Completing HSEQ Reporting as required.
  • Provision and delivery of HSEQ information for the inclusion in site meetings.
  • Participating in internal and external audits.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum of a Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or other relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role within a civil, construction, mining or resources environment.
  • Formal lead investigator training (ICAM preferred)
  • Relevant Industry Inductions:
    • BSBWHS411: Implement and monitor WHS policies, procedures and programs
  • BSBWHS414: Contribute to WHS risk management
  • White Card
  • HLTAID011: Provide First Aid
  • HLPPAT005: Collect Specimens of Drugs of Abuse Testing (desirable)
  • Intermediate computer skills and experience with MS Office suite.
