The company services both the Government and Commercial markets with particular expertise within the public safety, mining, utilities, special events, transport and rail sectors.
The Australasian head office is located in Melbourne and has branches located in all capital cities in addition to an extensive dealer network across the country and overseas.
About the role:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Business Development Manager to drive growth, continue to build strong client relationships and identify new market opportunities.
Job Description and Purpose:
- Plan, develop and manage Simoco Wireless Solutions business activity within the state and in line with the company's vision, business plan and market strategy for direct sales, indirect sales, service, rental, other lines of business and strategic partnerships
- Plan and achieve in the generation of Sales opportunities aligned to State Budgets
- Profitably grow and develop the market share of the Simoco Wireless Solutions business
- Drive Simoco Wireless Solutions business to exceed customer expectations
- Proactively contribute to an environment that engenders and promotes the organization core values detailed in the Mission Statement
Principle Accountabilities and Objectives:
- Meet or exceed budget targets
- Meet or exceed other assigned key performance objectives / indicators
- Directly interface with Simoco Wireless Solutions customers and prospective customers
- Represent Simoco in positively positioning its solutions and capabilities to its target markets in the local market
- Foster good staff morale and motivation in the local office
- Ensure a safe work environment
- Act as custodian for company assets
General Functions and Tasks:
Business Development
- Plan, execute and manage a Sales Plan to meet or exceed local market budgets within the period
- Input or manage all Sales Reporting required by Management to evaluate the performance within the local market
- Input or manage the Product Forecasting process as required to meet the order fulfilment or contractual requirements of the business within the local market
- Represent the business in relevant industry forums to positively position Simoco within its target markets
Operational
- Act as custodian for all company assets
- Ensure that all office are neat, functional and presented professionally at all times
- Ensure and promote safe work practices and environment for all staff
- Proactively contribute to a positive team environment
- Participate in the Performance Management Program
- Act in the best interests of Simoco Wireless Solutions, its customers and its staff in accordance with Simoco Wireless Solutions procedures and the Law
Other Job Requirements:
- Must have the ability to maintain good working relationships with clients, employees, and industry professionals
- This position requires a professional demeanor and an orientation towards positive outcomes for customers and other key stakeholders
- Must dress in a professional manner
- Must have a valid driving license and good driving record
- Must be flexible in work habits and work schedule
- Must have demonstrated a record of good work attendance and reliability
- Must be able to work with money and cash receipts and keep up-to-date expense records
- Must have effective oral and written communications skills and be able to articulate thoughts and ideas to others
Qualifications and Experience
- Preferred tertiary qualifications in a business discipline or similar relevant qualification or proven industry experience of 3 years or greater
- Demonstrated experience in the successful sales management
- Demonstrated experience or capability for office management, team management, and business delivery and management reporting
