One of our client's, Springfield City Group, is seeking the assistance of a full time Accountant for the Brookwater Golf & Country Club to take ownership of the daily accounting activities and ensuring data integrity to enable accurate reporting.

Setting a benchmark in golf, weddings, functions and dining, the Brookwater Golf and Country Club is one of Australia's finest, located close to Brisbane, Queensland. The Brookwater Golf Course and Country Club offers a wide array of golfing activities across our 18-hole par 72 golf course.  The Golf Operations includes a Food & Beverage venue, Restaurant, along with a golf shop selling merchandise and maintenance division for the course.

This diverse, multi-disciplinary Accountant role (working with an Accounts Payable resource) encompasses all aspects of the Golf Clubs business operations, with the main responsibilities being;

  • Inventory management
  • Membership analysis

  • Month end reporting including (but not limited to)

  • Assist with review of prepayments & accruals

  • Assist with maintaining fixed asset register
  • Labour costing analysis
  • Review & investigation of stocktake
  • Assist with balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with creating & maintaining budget

  • Daily accounting including (but not limited to)

  • Profitability review of events & functions

  • Weekly sales analysis
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Merchant banking reconciliation
  • Assist with purchase order coding
  • Manage revenue recognition

To be successful in the role it is a requirement to have solid accounting and problem-solving skills, ability to build rapport with internal and external stakeholders which is essential to ensure success.

We see the successful applicant being Accounting Degree qualified, proven experience as an Accountant, strong attention to detail and mathematical skills, intermediate excel skills, ability to handle confidential information and strong communication and interpersonal skills.

CA / CPA qualifications are not essential but the pathway towards can be supported.
