- Environment Officer Class 9 - Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $124,322 to $138,494 + super
The NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Hydraulic Modeller to join our Environmental Water Planning team to provide modelling and technical support to inform our management of environmental water across the NSW Murray-Darling Basin.
The successful applicant will work collaboratively with staff across DCCEEW and other NSW government agencies to lead the delivery of hydraulic modelling of large river and floodplain systems to support improved outcomes for rivers and floodplains. You will be working in a team of modellers and be expected to lead by example in the delivery of high-quality water modelling outcomes.
About You
Key knowledge and experience
- Demonstrated expertise in computer-based analysis of geospatial data and TUFLOW hydraulic modelling of large floodplain systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge in data management, GIS, hydraulic modelling software platforms, scripting in python.
- A sound understanding of the quantitative analysis and interpretation of hydrological data.
- Well developed skills in the writing of technical reports and presenting work to project partners and stakeholders.
Essential Requirements
- Relevant scientific or engineering qualifications.
- A valid NSW Driver's Licence and willingness to drive to remote locations which may include overnight stays.
