About the position:
The Plant Operator is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of plant and equipment within the Toowoomba Region. The Plant Operator works as part of a multi-skilled team to complete program objectives for the construction and maintenance of Council's infrastructure networks.
- This is a permanent full-time position based at the Goombungee Depot.
- The hourly rate for this position is $33.09 per hour.
- The base salary for this position is $1,257.27gross per week, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.
- In addition to the base wage rate, variable allowances are available (for example - on call, overtime, asbestos allowance, wet weather).
- Work a 9-day fortnight with a Rostered Day Off.

About the Team:
The Construction & Maintenance North (CMN) Branch plays a crucial role in driving capital and operational works projects and across a predominantly rural road and stormwater infrastructure network.

How to be successful in this position:
Essential Licences/Qualifications:
- Current "HR" Driver's Licence.
- WHS Certificate of Competency or VOC for 'LE' – Excavator (>2L engine capacity or RII Competency, or equivalent.
- WH&S Competency Card for CPCCWHS1001 - Prepare to work safely in the construction industry.
- Substantial experience in operating related plant, including operating an Excavator.
- Working in Proximity to Traffic Awareness Part 1 and 2, or a willingness to obtain within 3 months of commencement.
