At Loaves and Fishes Tasmania, we're more than just a kitchen — we're a movement. Serving up over 19,000 nutritious meals every week to Tasmanian's in need, we're on the lookout for a switched-on, industry-seasoned Chef to join our diverse team.


What's the Role About?

You'll be right at the heart of what we do — leading by example and ensuring every meal we deliver is packed with flavour, care, and nutrition. With support from our Chef's around the state, you'll bring energy, experience, and heart to everything you do. Running one of our kitchens in Hobart.


What We're Looking For:
  • Minimum Cert III in Commercial Cookery
  • 3+ years post-qualification industry experience
  • Working with Vulnerable People Card, or the ability to obtain one (required)
  • A passion for food, community, and minimising food waste
  • Experience working with trainees and apprentices
  • A natural team player with great communication and leadership skills
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate, or the ability to obtain one (required)
  • First Aid Certificate (preferred)
  • Budgeting and costing experience is a bonus
  • Must be reliable, punctual, organised and trustworthy, and display a high level of personal hygiene.
  • Attention to detail, willingness to take initiative and make decisions, able to troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Ability to work independently as directed and achieve results in a timely manner
  • Quick start (preferred)
  • Full working rights (Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident only)
Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Prepare, cook and present meals.
  • Unload, organise and store stock.
  • Maintain a clean work area, including kitchen and equipment.
  • Adhere to all Loaves & Fishes Tasmania policies and organisational standards and demonstrate commitment to safety, ensuring all safety practices are adhered to at all times.
  • Undertake other duties within skills and experience as directed by Management.
