We're looking for a friendly volunteer to spend time with a lovely older lady living independently in her home in Penshurst. A visit every fortnight, for around an hour at a time that suits you both, would make a big difference.

She enjoys good conversation and has a passion for arts and crafts — she'd love to share that with someone during your visits. But don't worry if creativity isn't your thing — simply sharing a chat would be warmly welcomed.

Please note: the client lives in a third-floor unit with stair access only.

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.

HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community.

Requirements

Short walk from  Penshurst station or bus from Hurstville. 

We'd be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one hour visit between 9am and 4pm Monday to Sunday, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability.

18 years or older
