APD's Mining Telecommunications team is dedicated to providing exceptional service to the critical mineral industries and mission-critical clients in the APAC region. We specialize in designing and deploying radio transport networks, predominantly for private LTE networks, ensuring optimum performance in mission-critical environments. Our customers include energy providers and Tier 1 miners of critical minerals.

About the Role

As a Wireless Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and deploying the radio transport network for private LTE networks. Your role will involve developing networking solutions for both private and non-private LTE networks, contributing to platform architectures and strategies, and providing expert-level support for operational systems. You will handle all aspects of designing and delivering end-to-end network solutions, including:

  • Supporting solution architects in pre-sales activities
  • Reviewing and analyzing customer network requirements
  • Designing RAN/Microwave network solutions with a focus on RF solutioning
  • Creating test strategies and documents for hardware and network-wide testing
  • Planning and deploying FAT/FIT test environments
  • Conducting FAT/FIT testing with clients
  • Deploying and commissioning LTE-related network hardware on-site (RAN, MW, UE)
  • Troubleshooting systems and providing high-level support for operational networks

This role is based in Perth, Western Australia, with offices and lab environments in both Osborne Park and St George Terrace in the CBD. It is a full-time position that requires frequent travel to sites for deployments, testing, and handovers.

About You

We are looking for a Wireless Network Engineer with comprehensive knowledge of the mining environment and direct on-site experience. You should have a proven track record in the industry, with an emphasis on health and safety during operations. You should be an expert in LTE RAN and Microwave networks and have the ability to stay abreast of emerging technologies in the Private LTE sector and related domains.
