The Company

The organisation is an established nonbank lender, focused on providing funding to the property development sector.

The group has a strong following of high-net worth investors, who gain exposure to the private credit market

The Opportunity

Reporting the CEO, the Chief Risk Officer will be responsible for proactively managing transaction risk, operational risk, compliance risk and the evolution of credit policies.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Lead assessment and approval of property debt and preferred equity transactions.
  • Oversee due diligence, feasibility reviews, risk grading, sensitivity analysis.
  • Develop, implement and continuously refine company credit policies.
  • Ensure consistent application of credit standards across all deals.
  • Provide independent challenge to deal structuring and pricing assumptions.
  • Build the enterprise risk framework across credit, operational, compliance, governance.
  • Serve as a core member of the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Chair or co-chair relevant risk committees.
  • Work closely with Legal, Finance, Operations and Investor Relations to ensure risk is embedded across the organisation.
  • Mentor and develop emerging credit talent.
  • Present to Board, Investment Committee, and investors on risk matters.

Experience Required

The preferred candidate will have relevant industry experience in the finance sector. Specifically, you will have detailed working experience in credit/risk, within a lending setting.

In addition, to your technical skills, you will possess high level communication skills, exceptional judgement and the ability to build and maintain relationships. You will have the ability to find solutions and implement change.
