About Us

Somerville House is a day and boarding school for girls established in 1899, providing exceptional education for students from Prep through to Year 12, with a co-educational Pre-Prep offering. Somerville House is a school of the Presbyterian and Methodist Schools Association (PMSA). The PMSA is a mission of the Presbyterian and Uniting Churches.

We are seeking an experienced Educator to join our well-established Early Learning Centre on a fixed-term basis for the remainder of the 2025 year and continuing until December 2026, working 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.

This position would find you working collaboratively with teachers to assist students within Pre-Prep. With a passion for education, you will provide quality learning experiences and support the inclusion of all children

Our ideal candidate will contribute to the delivery of the Pre-Prep program, providing an environment of fun and learning through play-based activities.

About You

  • Do you have experience of working with children with diverse learning needs in an Early Learning environment?
  • Are you willing to be part of a highly developed and equipped team where you can contribute innovative ideas?
  • Do you have sound knowledge and experience with the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG) and Early Years Learning Frameworks (EYLF)?

It is a mandatory requirement to hold a Certificate III (or higher) in Children's Services (Early Childhood) and a current paid blue card (working with children check).
