We are seeking a committed Inclusive Education Teacher who will be interacting positively with students, staff, parents and all stakeholders involved in the care of the student as well as implementing college processes and practices that keep with the values and ethos of the College and designed to accomplish the desired outcomes of the College's Inclusive Education programs.
The role is available on an ongoing full-time basis.
The role:
- Class teaching where required
- Identification, preparation, management and dissemination of Individual Learning Plans (ILP) in collaboration with the student, carers, and stakeholders
- Case management of students with a disability; ability to chair wraparound meetings with stakeholders involved in a student to review learning impacts, adjustments, learning progress using an evidence-based approaches
- Co-ordinating with Director LE, parents and staff, ILPs, Individual Curriculum Plan (ICP), Risk Assessments, Health and Safety Plan development and deployment; use data and evidence effectively to support planning, implementation, resourcing and evaluation.
- Leading and mentoring TA's and teaching staff in best practice for inclusion of students with disability in a mainstream school setting
Qualifications:
- Registered teachers with a minimum of 5 years teaching experience, to work in Learning Enhancement/Diverse Learning/Inclusive Education
- Demonstrated ability to engage professionally and communicate effectively with colleagues and members of the wider College community.
- Tertiary level graduate qualification in Education (essential) and post-graduate (desirable).
- A Learning Enhancement Inclusion qualification and experience is desirable
- Meet all compliance requirements as an educator in Queensland (QCT Registration).
- Knowledge and competence in NCCD, EALD, diverse learners is desirable.
