We have an exciting opportunity, Position of Leadership as Year 9 Larning & Wellbeing Leader, commencing Term 1, 2026. This is a POL3.5 for three years, plus an ongoing teaching position.

Remuneration will be based on experience, following the Teacher scale of the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022 (CEMEA).

Job Description:

Your primary responsibilities will include:

· In collaboration with the Assistant Principal: Learning and Teaching and Learning Area Team Leaders, facilitate the design, development and implementation of a curriculum which is consistent with the overarching aims and mission of the College and Year 9 program in accordance with Victorian Curriculum standards;

· Support teachers with development of their skills and knowledge of inquiry and project-based education models, including the use of an appropriate repertoire of learning and teaching strategies. This is with a view to engendering innovative learning and teaching, with a focus on continual improvement in student learning outcomes;

· Work in collaboration with the Year 9 teaching staff and Data and Progression Leader to actively monitor student progress through Synergetic and the BASE;

· Guide and support staff and students to create a learning environment and culture that promotes student wellbeing and resilience;

· Set the professional standards for members of their team – supporting the performance and development of Class/House Mentors in coming to understand the intrinsic links between wellbeing and learning;

· Adhering to the school's Child Protection Policy and Child Safety Staff Code of Conduct.

· Ensuring up-to-date student data management systems.

· Complying with ongoing professional development requirements as per VIT guidelines.

· Actively engaging in internal and external professional development to enhance teaching practices.

· Utilizing a variety of teaching methods and resources to effectively engage students in their learning journey.

Skills/Experience Required:

We require the following qualifications and qualities in the ideal candidate:

· Bachelor of Education or relevant tertiary qualification (Masters Degree an advantage)

· Experience in relevant educational leadership.

· Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.

· A strong commitment to Catholic education.

· Ability to build and maintain professional and caring relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

· Skills to create an engaging, educational, and challenging learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of all students.

· An eagerness to learn and grow in the field of education.

· Proficiency in implementing a differentiated curriculum and leveraging modern technology to support student learning.

Special Requirements:

At De La Salle College, the safety, well-being, and inclusion of all children are paramount. Therefore, the successful applicant must demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to providing a safe environment for children.

The successful applicant must hold a valid Victorian Institute of Teaching registration. While accreditation to teach Religious Education in a Catholic school is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite.
