We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Supervising Principal Lawyer to join our Personal Injuries North division. As a Supervising Principal Lawyer, you will demonstrate exceptional leadership, commercial acumen, and legal excellence. You will combine data-driven decision making with a growth-minded, collaborative approach to drive practice and client outcomes. This role is pivotal in leading high-performing teams, fostering innovation, and ensuring the highest standards of legal service. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of legal practice and extend access to justice for all.
Key Responsibilities
Client Acquisition & Conversion: Lead the region in identifying, pursuing, and converting new client leads and referral opportunities, driving measurable growth in client acquisition and retention.
Practice Performance: Ensure your office or practice group meets agreed KPIs and targets, including file load efficiency, revenue growth, and profitability.
Technical Excellence: Provide high-quality technical guidance, supervision, and quality assurance to lawyers and legal assistants, ensuring consistent legal excellence and compliance.
Leadership & People Development: Inspire and develop teams through courageous, compassionate, and fair leadership. Embed succession planning, engagement, and career development.
Operational Effectiveness: Oversee resource planning, workload allocation, and budget management, implementing efficient work practices and ensuring compliance with firm policies.
Strategy & Business Planning: Develop and execute the annual business plan for your practice area, translating firm strategy into clear local priorities.
Risk & Quality Assurance: Drive proactive risk management and continuous quality improvement, ensuring governance, client care, and compliance with legal obligations.

What We're Looking For
Leadership & Influence: Proven ability to lead through influence, fostering trust, collaboration, and accountability across teams and offices.
Commercial & Analytical Capability: High level of financial and commercial literacy, with the ability to interpret and act on performance data.
Technical Excellence: Deep and current legal expertise in personal injuries or a comparable area, with capacity to supervise complex matters.
Client Relationship Management: Commitment to service excellence and client satisfaction, with a track record in business development and stakeholder engagement.
Growth Mindset: Humility, curiosity, and a commitment to continuous improvement and psychological safety.
Collaboration: Ability to work effectively across practice and office boundaries, contributing positively to divisional projects and cultural improvement.
Technology & Transformation: Demonstrated interest, commitment, or passion for keeping up to date with emerging technologies, including AI, and understanding their impact on the legal profession. You actively seek opportunities to leverage technology for practice transformation, efficiency, and improved client outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience
Significant post-admission experience in personal injuries or a comparable area of law.
Proven record of technical excellence and supervision of complex matters.
Demonstrated success in business development, client acquisition, and relationship management.
Experience leading teams and driving performance outcomes across multiple offices or practice areas.
Tertiary qualifications in Law; postgraduate or specialist accreditation highly regarded.
Current, unrestricted Practising Certificate; Accredited Specialist in Personal Injuries preferred.
