Personal Care Worker

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) plays a vital role in supporting clients to maintain their independence, dignity, and wellbeing in the comfort of their own homes. The PCA provides compassionate, high-quality care that reflects Wattle and River's values of respect, empathy, and person-centred support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide assistance with personal care, including bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, and mobility.
- Support clients with meal preparation, feeding assistance, and hydration.
- Assist with light domestic duties such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe home environment.
- Offer companionship and emotional support, fostering a sense of connection and wellbeing.
- Support client participation in community, leisure, and lifestyle activities.
- Observe, report, and document changes in client health or behaviour to the Care Coordinator/Registered Nurse.
- Adhere to individualised care plans and follow clinical instructions as directed.
- Ensure safe manual handling practices and infection control procedures are maintained.
- Uphold the rights, dignity, and privacy of clients at all times.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care, Disability, or equivalent).
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Current Police Check and Working with Children Check (if applicable).
- Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle (desirable).
- Previous experience in community care, aged care, or disability support is highly regarded.
