The Role:

We are currently seeking compassionate and motivated Personal Care Workers (PCWs) to join our team in Moreton Bay. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to further their career in community care or nursing, with a focus on providing high-quality care to veterans and their families.

Flexible and Varied Shifts (Including Split Shifts)

We offer a range of casual hours across a rotating roster. Shifts may include:

Evening: 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM/ 2:00 PM – 9:00PM

Overnight: 9:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Split Shifts may also be required as part of your roster

Flexibility across these times is highly valued, and shift patterns will vary to meet client and operational needs.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing personal care and assistance to clients in their homes with activities of daily living, such as showering, dressing, and grooming.
  • Assisting with the prompting of medication.
  • Providing emotional support and companionship to clients and their families.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely documentation of care provided.
  • Adhering to infection control and occupational health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Monitoring clients for changes or concerns in their health, wellbeing, and behavior, and reporting appropriately to our Clinical Team.
  • Demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development and quality improvement.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A current First Aid and CPR certificate, Manual handling certificate and Medication assistance competency or be willing to obtain these.
  • A Certificate III in Individual support (post 2015), or A Certificate III in home and community, Aged Care or Disability (Pre december 2015), or A Certificate III in Health Services Assistance or second year bachelor of Nursing Degree.
  • A current driver's license and a reliable vehicle.
  • Experience working in the healthcare/support industry preferred.
  • A compassionate, kind, and caring approach to working with clients and their families.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients and colleagues.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, with good problem-solving and time management skills.
