The Residential Personal Care Worker. Provides high-quality, person-centred care to residents in accordance with individual care plans and Mutkin's values of respect, dignity, and cultural safety. This role ensures Elders receive compassionate care that supports their physical, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing within a culturally safe environment.

Key Responsibilities

Resident Care

  • Deliver daily living support including personal hygiene, grooming, mobility assistance, toileting, and nutritional support.
  • Promote independence, dignity, and choice in all aspects of care.
  • Assist residents with medication reminders and documentation as directed by nursing staff.
  • Observe, report, and record any changes in residents' health or behaviour to the Clinical Nurse.
  • Support residents' participation in lifestyle and cultural activities.

Cultural Safety & Community Connection

  • Provide care that respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander traditions, beliefs, and cultural protocols.
  • Support gender and cultural boundaries in accordance with "Men's and Women's Business" guidelines.
  • Promote inclusion and respect for residents from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and timely progress notes, care records, and incident reports in LeeCare.
  • Follow directions from clinical leadership and comply with Mutkin's policies and procedures.

Workplace Health & Safety

  • Adhere to infection control, manual handling, and workplace safety protocols.
  • Participate in regular toolbox meetings and safety briefings.
  • Report hazards, incidents, and near misses immediately to the supervisor.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Work collaboratively with Clinical, Lifestyle, and Community teams.
  • Attend handovers, meetings, and training as required.
  • Contribute to a supportive, respectful, and culturally safe workplace.
