About the role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Assistant Centre Manager to join our Modern Family Early Learning centre in Cairns, QLD. In this full-time role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the Centre Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations and ensuring the delivery of exceptional early learning experiences for the children in our care.

What you'll be doing

  • Assist the Centre Manager in leading and managing the early learning centre, including staff supervision, rostering and professional development
  • Support the implementation of the centre's educational program and ensure it aligns with the National Quality Standards
  • Engage with families, build strong relationships and effectively communicate centre policies and procedures
  • Manage the centre's compliance with relevant regulations and legislation
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the centre's continuous improvement strategies
  • Assist with the recruitment, onboarding and training of new team members
  • Deputise for the Centre Manager in their absence

What we're looking for

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education or a related field
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a senior or supervisory role within the childcare sector
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop a team of early childhood educators
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with families and the local community
  • Thorough understanding of the National Quality Framework and experience in implementing educational programs
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certifications
  • Working with Children Check and National Police Check
