About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented individual to grow within a dynamic funds-management environment and looking for an entry role into financial markets. Reporting to the Financial Controller and CEO, you'll assist with daily accounting and operational activities that support both corporate and fund administration functions.

The role also includes assisting with financial control operations, portfolio management and administration and property-related administration.

Key Responsibilities

Fund & Financial Accounting

• Assist with daily/weekly/monthly Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations and reconciliations
• Trade reconciliation
• Support management and performance fee calculations
• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries and bank reconciliations
• Assist with monthly and quarterly financial statements and investor reports
• Help prepare and lodge BAS, payroll, and invoicing
• Liaise with auditors, administrators, and service providers as required

SMA (Separately Managed Accounts) Management

• Support the reconciliation and maintenance of client SMA portfolios
• Process corporate actions, dividends, and portfolio adjustments in coordination with custodians and brokers
• Assist with SMA performance and transaction reporting for internal review
• Monitor cash movements, trade settlements, and asset valuations to ensure accurate reporting
• Work closely with the investment team to provide accurate accounting data for portfolio management decisions

Property & Asset Management Support

• Maintain rental and property expense schedules for managed or leased properties
• Assist with tenant correspondence, lease documentation, and property compliance
• Track maintenance requests and contractor payments
• Support property accounting, including reconciliation of rent income and outgoings

Office & Administrative Support

• Perform general office duties such as document filing, data entry, correspondence, and record-keeping
• Coordinate supplier invoices, payments, and petty cash management
• Assist with scheduling meetings, maintaining calendars, and office supplies inventory
• Support smooth day-to-day running of the head office, including liaising with IT and building management

Qualifications:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (CA/CPA studies encouraged or underway)
• 2-3 years' experience in accounting or administration. A background in financial services is not a pre-requisite for this role.
• Strong attention to detail and solid understanding of accounting principles
• Intermediate Excel and accounting software skills (Xero & MYOB)
• Professional experience with both Xero and MYOB accounting software packages
• Excellent communication, organisation, and time-management skills
• A proactive, hands-on team player willing to assist across different areas of the business
• Australian work authorisation required for this position
