The Role

Aube is entering its next growth phase and is seeking a highly skilled, experienced and values aligned General Manager Operations. This is a pivotal executive role responsible for leading operational performance across design, pre-construction and construction delivery.

The GM Operations will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and to the highest quality, while optimising capacity, resources and systems. This leader will drive operational excellence, build high performing teams, and ensure seamless alignment between strategy and day to day execution.

As part of the executive team, alongside the Managing Director, GM Finance & Commercial, and Director Strategy & Client Success, the GM Operations will be responsible for:

Operational Leadership

• Oversee delivery of all construction projects across residential and commercial portfolios.
• Lead and integrate Design, Pre-Construction and Construction teams for optimal collaboration.
• Drive operational efficiency, resource allocation and capacity planning.
• Implement robust WHS, quality and compliance systems.
• Manage procurement, subcontractor relationships and supply chains.

People & Performance

• Lead and develop operational leaders (Construction Manager, Pre-Construction Manager, Design Manager).
• Build capability and succession across delivery roles (PMs, CAs, Site Supervisors, Architects, Interior Designers, Estimators).
• Oversee performance development, training and professional growth of staff.
• Champion Aube's collaborative, accountable culture.

Financial & Commercial

• Manage operational budgets, WIP, margin forecasts and resourcing costs.
• Support financial reporting, forecasting and risk management in partnership with the GM Finance & Commercial.
• Monitor contract compliance, variations and delegated approvals.

Strategic Execution & Client Success

• Translate business strategy into operational goals, KPIs and initiatives.
• Drive innovation in systems, digital platforms and process automation.
• Contribute to advisory board reporting with delivery, WHS and resourcing metrics.
• Partner with the Director Strategy & Client Success to support sales conversion, pipeline delivery and client handover.
• Monitor client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle and ensure service excellence.

Requirements

We are seeking a proven leader with deep construction and pre-construction management experience who shares Aube's passion for innovation and excellence in design and building.

• Proven leadership experience in construction and pre-construction management, across Tier 1–3 commercial construction.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams across multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen with WIP, forecasting and risk management expertise.
• Track record in WHS, quality and compliance frameworks.
• Experience driving digital enablement and operational systems.
• Exposure to, or appetite for, supporting business development and pipeline conversion.
• Design Management experience desirable.

Salary

Executive package in the range of $220k - $250k + Super, with flexibility for the right person.
