Key Relationships
The Head of Student Experience and Global Engagement
reports directly to the Directors of Learning and Teaching and
works closely with the International Student Coordinator, Heads
of House and Heads of School.
Position Objective:
The Head of Student Experience and Global Engagement provides strategic leadership and oversight of
the School's holistic Resiliency and Values education programs from ELC to Year 12. This role brings
coherence and alignment across the School, ensuring that students are supported to grow as globally
minded, values-led individuals who are capable, connected, and purpose-driven.
The Head of Student Experience and Global Engagement will lead and align existing Westminster School
programs including the and curriculum, Round Square affiliation and the
exchange program and oversee the work of the International Student Coordinator. Working with the
School Chaplain, they will champion a culture of spirituality, inclusivity, belonging, and ethical leadership,
demonstrating the Capabilities encapsulated by the Westminster Capability Compass.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Integration and Coherence
- Develop and lead a developmental framework that aligns Year 7 to 12 Wellbeing and Resilience
education as a Positive Education School, , the Capability Compass, Round Square
and its IDEALS and global citizenship across the school.
- Map curriculum interconnections between programs and create touchpoints for academic,
cross-curricular, pastoral and spiritual integration, including the Positive Education Enhanced
Curriculum, Keeping Safe: Child Protection Curriculum and external speaker program.
- Work with teachers and the School Chaplain to embed the School Values consistently in daily
School life and community engagement.
- Ensure links exist to develop student agency in learning, ensuring specific links to the Year 7
Learning to Learn and FUSS programs.
2. Leadership of Round Square and Global Citizenship
- Acting as the key liaison for Round Square, the role supports the work of the Chaplain and International
Student Coordinator, ensuring strategic alignment and synergies.
- Working with the Chaplain and International Student Coordinator, develop initiatives that promote spiritual,
ethical, and global development in students through assemblies, workshops and reflection opportunities.
Build community connections to facilitate Service Learning activities for students across the School.
Work with Curriculum Leaders to integrate Capability and Values development into academic and co-
curricular learning experiences.
Collaborate with staff to embed the School Values in teaching and learning practices.
As the key liaison for Round Square, coordinate participation in exchanges and conferences.
Represent the school in relevant forums, networks, and Round Square events.
3. Values and Faith Education
Support the planning of Chapel services and student-centred approaches to faith and meaning-making.
Foster authentic partnerships with local and global organisations aligned to the school's values.
Plan for and implement engaging positive education wellbeing lessons from Year 7 to Year 12
Represent the school in forums related to values education and global learning.
Work in partnership with the Chaplain to foster a spiritually rich and inclusive environment across all year
levels.
- Promote respectful dialogue and values-based inquiry that honours the school's spiritual tradition while
welcoming diverse worldviews.
- Provide and lead service projects that embed the Westminster School values in various year levels.
4. International Student Support and Coordination
Line manage the International Student Coordinator and support their collaboration with the enrolment team.
Ensure international students are integrated into the School's values, wellbeing, and capability frameworks.
Promote culturally inclusive practices and programs that reflect the richness of a global community.
5. Staff Development and Community Partnerships
- Provide appropriate professional learning for staff in the areas of Values education, global citizenship,
spiritual inquiry, and Wellbeing Curriculum.
- Oversee the development of pastoral care tutors and teachers to deliver engaging lessons around wellbeing
and values.
6. Line Management of School Psychologists/Counsellors
Oversee the daily operations of the School Psychologists/Counsellors.
Produce reports to the School Leadership Team and Council.
Other Responsibilities
All teaching staff are expected to contribute to the Pastoral Care program
All teaching staff are expected to contribute to the co-curricular program of the School
Other responsibilities as the Principal may from time to time require
Key Selection Criteria
Proven leadership experience in values education, pastoral care, or intercultural/global learning.
Familiarity with Uniting Church values and beliefs.
Demonstrated ability to align and integrate diverse programs under a unified strategic vision.
Experience with student capability frameworks (e.g. General Capabilities, SACE Thrive Agenda).
Experience supporting international students or leading intercultural inclusion.
Passion for supporting young people to become ethical, capable, globally aware citizens.
Strong interpersonal, communication and team leadership skills.
Commitment to holistic student growth and a deeply relational approach to education.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Current Teacher Registration
Relevant tertiary qualifications and experience in similar roles
Demonstrated knowledge in areas of the role such as Round Square and the SACE
To be working at least at proficient level, as described by the teacher professional standards, striving towards
working at the HALT descriptors
Regular and up to date professional knowledge and learning
Involvement at relevant professional organisations.

Safety and Wellbeing
All staff must:
- Take reasonable care of, and cooperate with actions taken to protect, the health and safety of both
themselves and others
- Report all accidents, incidents and hazards to their supervisors as soon as is practicable

Conditions of Employment
- All applicants must be eligible to work in Australia
• Teachers must have (or be eligible to obtain) current registration with Teachers Registration Board of South
Australia
• All staff must satisfy child protection screening and adhere to Westminster's Child Safety and Wellbeing
policy which includes holding a current Working with Children Clearance.
• All teaching staff must have completed current Provide First Aid training
• A 6 month probationary period applies to all teaching positions and positions of responsibility
