With a renewed focus on service location, we seek expressions of interest for service location for works in the SEQ region and travel to our North Queensland depot for works from time to time. Our Service Locators are Telstra-accredited and are equipped with the latest cable location equipment, including 2D GPR, EMF locating wands and pipe cameras for drain inspections. We at Hydroexcavac have dedicated ourselves to improving the quality of our workmanship, through better employee training and the recruitment of external training providers.

About the role

Service location is a highly independent role which, requires attention to detail and a high level of responsibility and safety awareness, in a live construction environment.

As a Service Location Technician at Hydroexcavac, you will be tasked with everything from client liaison, Dial Before You Dig (DBYD) searches, Underground Service Locating (Ground Penetrating Radar), Mapping, and Record Research and report writing.

This role will be based in Rockhampton as a casual employee, for the duration of existing contracts, with the potential for going full time for the right person. Our contracts cover Rockhampton, Mackay and Brisbane regions so you may be required to work away from home when necessary.  Accommodation and meals will be provided when you are required to work away from home. You will be required to be efficient and have a willingness to try new tasks.

Skills and experience

  • Must be DBYD certified and Telstra Accredited;
  • You must be observant and have good attention to detail;
  • You must be fit and able to work on a hot day;
  • A "White Card" or Construction Safety Induction is mandatory;
  • A Current Drivers license.
