Position Overview:

Mancala is currently on the lookout to recruit qualified and experienced Diesel Motor Mechanic for our project in Kalgoorlie, WA.

Primarily reporting to the site Project Manager/Maintenance Manager you will ensure that the Mechanical maintenance activities associated with the project are undertaken in a safe and timely manner in compliance with all legal, legislative and general duty of care business standards.

Duties include:

  • Define the work scope for each job and review with Management.
  • Ensure you attain and hold all relevant project and site inductions prior to working on the site.
  • Ensure all parts and consumables are ordered and supplied for related jobs and projects.
  • Detecting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in engines and parts.
  • Dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts.
  • Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts, reassembling mechanical components, and referring to service manuals as needed.
  • Performing scheduled maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications and engine tune-ups, to achieve smoother running of vehicles and ensure compliance with pollution regulations.
  • Reassembling engines and parts after being repaired.
  • Testing and adjusting mechanical parts after being repaired for proper performance.
  • Diagnosing and testing parts with the assistance of computers.
  • Facilitate as required other technical requirements to assist operations and maintenance, this may include but not limited to operation of equipment.
  • Establish and maintain the highest standard in promoting Mancala at all times.

Relevant Experience:

  • 5+ years' experience in the mining sector or other similar heavy industry is desirable.
  • A mechanical trade qualification is essential.
  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering desirable.
  • Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology
  • Experience in underground metalliferous operations with demonstrated knowledge of mechanical systems used in underground metalliferous equipment. Eg. Drill Rigs, Boggers, Loader, Integrated Tool Carriers.
  • Good Breakdown/ Fault Finding capabilities
  • Previous mine site experience preferred
  • Basic Microsoft office skills
  • Ability to pass Pre-employment Medical and National Police Clearance
  • Australian Working Rights - Visa/ Residency etc.
