As the Emergency Management Officer, you will provide support and coordinate activities for various initiatives and undertake projects associated with the ongoing development and maintenance of the Emergency Management Unit. The Emergency Management Unit manages and develops St John WA's capability to respond to major incidents and disasters across Western Australia. This is a full-term fixed term role (10 months, with a possibility of extension) working 37.5 hours per week Monday through Friday, with some flexibility with start and finish times. You will join a close-knit and collaborative team based in Belmont and work across varied and interesting work.
What you'll do:
- Schedule Emergency Management meetings, prepare agenda and collate minutes.
- Undertake maintenance of records and databases associated with the Emergency Management Unit, including maintenance of training calendars, rostering, asset registers, and research projects all as required.
- Create Emergency Management related documents, as well as undertake the review and proofreading of documents created by the Emergency Management Team.
- Assist to ensure documentation and content on the Emergency Management Unit internal web page is up to date and create new documents/reports for publication to this page as required.
- Develop, collate, and assist with data management and reporting.
- Assist with the scheduling and day to day running of internally led Emergency Management Training courses.
- Assist with the development of new initiatives and training related to the Emergency Management Unit.
- Schedule and coordinate internal training and maintain training records, calendars, and registers to ensure mandatory training requirements are met.
- Provide assistance for training exercises
- Assist with the review and development of plans and policies relating to the Emergency Management Unit
- Undertake day-to-day administration activities associated with the Emergency Management Unit.
What you'll need:
- Background in corporate, health, community or commercial based sectors.
- Knowledge of systems, tools and process within the ambit of this position – MS Office Suite, Sharepoint, Design studio (desirable)
- Excellent problem solving and organisational skills.
- High attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Intermediate to advance knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience required in a similar administration role
