Suburban Rail Loop (SRL) is an integrated transport infrastructure and precincts planning project that will deliver a 90km rail line linking every major train service from the Frankston Line to the Werribee Line via Melbourne Airport, as well as investment in the suburbs, better connecting Victorians to jobs, retail, education, health services and each other. Suburban Rail Loop Authority (SRLA) is the statutory body established to plan all elements of the project, procure builders, develop structure planning for SRL Precincts and oversee construction and the other changes that will help transform Melbourne and Victoria.

SRL is more than a rail project. It's a once-in-a-generation opportunity to plan for and prepare our city and state to meet the needs of future Victorians, and we can't do it alone. About the opportunity

We're seeking a proactive and creative Senior Media and Content Advisor to join the Suburban Rail Loop Authority. In this dynamic role, you'll develop and deliver engaging media and content strategies, provide expert advice to senior leaders and ministerial teams, and create a wide range of communications materials including media releases, web content, newsletters, and video scripts. You'll also manage media events, respond to media inquiries under pressure and collaborate across government agencies. Strong writing skills, digital savvy, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential.

As a Senior Media and Content advisor you will have:

  • Significant experience in communications, media management, stakeholder relations or a media environment, with demonstrated ability to deliver high quality communications and identify potential risks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience in delivering content for digital channels, including social media and online communications.
  • Highly developed written and communication skills - especially in presenting clear and concise information that will be subject to public scrutiny, and in developing an effective narrative for media purposes.
  • A sound understanding of the Victorian political environment, the Government's infrastructure agenda and the public transport system.
