Full Stack Engineer – API & Web Portal Development (Federal Government)

Our client is a global consultancy delivering secure, scalable digital solutions across government and enterprise platforms. This role supports full stack development for web portals and APIs in a federal government environment.

About the role:

We are seeking a Full Stack Engineer with strong experience in API development, cloud infrastructure, and modern front-end frameworks. You'll be responsible for designing and maintaining both front-end and back-end components, deploying containerised applications, and ensuring accessibility and performance across platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build complex APIs using Golang and JavaScript/TypeScript with REST and GraphQL.
  • Develop accessible web applications using React and TypeScript (WCAG 2.1 compliance).
  • Deploy containerised applications using Docker, Helm, and Kubernetes.
  • Write Infrastructure as Code using Terraform on AWS.
  • Create CI/CD pipelines using GitHub/GitLab, Artifactory, and HashiCorp Vault.
  • Write unit, integration, and functional tests; collaborate with QA teams.
  • Manage Postgres and MySQL database deployment and administration.
  • Contribute across the SDLC: design, development, code reviews, and maintenance.

Required Experience:

  • Strong experience in full stack development and API architecture.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud infrastructure and Terraform.
  • Expertise in DevOps practices and CI/CD tooling.
  • Proven ability to deliver accessible, scalable web applications.
  • Experience in database management and system testing.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with Angular and mobile app development (React Native or similar).
  • Strong ownership, adaptability, and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Prior experience in government or public sector environments.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Australian Citizenship.
  • Baseline or NV-1 Government Security Clearance.
