Primary objective
Provide expert advice, project coordination and support across the urban sector on the implementation of safety and quality improvement activities. Provide
day to day management, leadership, and support to frontline administrative teams across two health centres, liaising closely with senior management.

Context statement
This position is a key position within the service delivery framework to ensure the strengthening of clinical governance and implementation for the National
Safety and Quality Primary and Community Healthcare Standards. This role requires expert focus on accreditation and the current National Safety and
Quality Primary and Community Healthcare Standards, the ability and clear understanding of Primary Health Care Urban core business.

Key duties and responsibilities
Provide expert advice relating to the implementation and evaluation of clinical care safety and consumer safety procedures, guidelines and consumer

engagement information.
Develop regular clinical governance reports, audit schedules and compliance, coordinate surveyor visits and develop and implement recommended

action plans.
Actively promote and support the implementation and maintenance of NSQPH standards in the PPHC setting to ensure the service consistently meets

the needs and expectations of clients and TER Strategic Plans and accreditation of the service.
Provide high level leadership and evidence-based advice to the work unit and other stakeholders to ensure a responsive, high quality, safe and cost-

effective business administration function.
Lead the administrative functions associated with the urban health clinic reception, procurement, HR, recruitment, assets and records management.
Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken in order to ensure high

quality, safe services and workplaces.
Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.

Selection criteria
Essential
High level written communication and report writing skills with the ability to accurately analyse and clearly communicate a range of governance,

administrative and technical issues.
Sound knowledge of risk management, incident management and accreditation requirements of the Australian Commission on Safety and Quality in

Healthcare.
Comprehensive understanding of the processes related to conducting audits and evaluation activities.
Well-developed interpersonal skills, negotiation and conflict management skills, with experience working in a team environment to achieve positive

health outcomes.
Demonstrated high level administrative leadership skills with capacity to provide leadership in a team environment.
Extensive knowledge of computer applications including Word, Excel, Content Manager and other software packages.
Proven ability to develop positive relationships and interact with people from diverse cultures to facilitate effective flow of information and

communication.

Desirable
Previous experience working with accreditation standards.
Sound knowledge and understanding of the NT Health organisational structure and functions.
