Melbourne, Victoria, Australia Bellroy Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year

IN A NUTSHELL

At Bellroy, we're committed to being a force for good, creating products that are as sustainable as they are durable. As a certified B Corp, we're serious about our environmental responsibilities and navigating the complex landscape of global material compliance is key to our success. That's where you come in.

We're seeking a Product Compliance Officer with sharp attention to detail, deep knowledge of material regulations, and the drive to help us keep pace with global compliance expectations. You will help manage risk, lead rigorous testing programs, and ensure our materials and processes meet top regulatory standards — playing a vital role in making sure our products are safe, responsible, and future-proof.

If you excel at analysing material testing, managing risk, and shaping sustainable outcomes, keep reading.

YOU COULD BE THE ONE, IF YOU…

  • Have 2–5 years' experience in a compliance or materials-focused role, preferably in apparel, bags, footwear, or related industries
  • Bring solid knowledge of global chemical regulations like REACH and Prop 65, along with experience in RSL management and material testing requirements
  • Are a proactive problem-solver with an eye for identifying and mitigating risks
  • Bring strong organisational skills and a process-driven mindset, enabling you to develop and manage systems for compliance documentation, reporting, and test tracking
  • Are comfortable learning and using spreadsheet applications or data management tools to support compliance and project needs
  • Confident working autonomously, with the ability to involve stakeholders to align priorities and mitigate risks when necessary.

IF YOU WERE HERE LAST MONTH, YOU MIGHT HAVE…

  • Arranged third party testing ahead of a new product release
  • Collaborated with manufacturing suppliers to gather key data and compliance certifications
  • Explored different options for third party testing providers, and reported back to the team on testing benefits and cost implications
  • Identified potential compliance risks and coordinated corrective actions with manufacturing partners
  • Assessed the impact of upcoming legislation and worked cross-functionally to update stakeholders and shape an action plan
  • Started building out a region-specific testing roadmap for the next 12 months (and beyond) to stay ahead of changing global regulations
  • Established a centralised compliance data system that improved the ease and efficiency of tracking, updating, and reporting compliance status.
