The role is responsible for engaging in and supporting the development of Athletics at Schools, Centres and Clubs in WA.

The role will be the primary point of call for supporting Clubs and Centres, as well as assisting in building the capacity of Athletics WA Centres and Clubs. Working with the Centre & Schools Coordinator, the role aims to increase the footprint and operations of athletics at Schools, Clubs and Centres through administration, club development and the provision of support programs.

A close working relationship is required with affiliated bodies, relevant stakeholders and internal staff and volunteers, will be essential to the successful achievement of Athletics West's objectives.

Core Responsibilities
  • Deliver the Athletics West Club Toolkit to Clubs and Centres to further develop their capacity and delivery of club athletics.
  • Maintain strong relationships with Clubs and Centres, including attendance at meetings and Club events when required.
  • Work with WA Schools to connect them with their local Clubs and Centres to support the development and delivery of athletics in WA.
  • Assist in the delivery of the Schools Engagement Program
  • Assist in the delivery of Club and Centre Affiliation
  • Facilitate and support the administration of the annual membership
  • Support the General Manager, Marketing & Community and the CEO in the delivery of the Strategic Plan
Key Duties
  • Deliver and report on the delivery of the Athletics West Club Toolkit.
  • Attend and support Club and Centre Activities, meetings and events
  • Attend and support School athletics activities and events to promote Athletics West opportunities.
  • Promote opportunities for Athletics Clinics for Schools and Teacher PD sessions.
  • Liaise with RevSport and Timing Solutions regarding online registration, set up, competition delivery and ongoing support for Clubs and Centres.
  • Work with Centre, Clubs and members to deliver development opportunities within committees.
  • Support Clubs and Centres with membership enquires, transfers, refunds and registrations.
  • Communicate effectively with members, employees, government authorities, representative bodies, all other stakeholders and the public.
  • Assure the organisation and its mission, program, products and services are consistently presented in a strong, positive image to the public and relevant stakeholders.
  • Engage in the delivery of programs, products and services as required.
  • Represent the organisation as required through attendance and submissions at events, conferences and meetings.
  • Other duties as determined by the General Manager, Marketing & Community, Centre & Schools Coordinator and the CEO from time to time.
Essential Criteria
  1. Strong communication (written and verbal), negotiation and relationship building skills;
  2. Strong time management, presentation skills and the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise tasks;
  3. Well-developed analytical, research and reporting skills;
  4. Excellent computer skills and information technology literacy with a range of software applications and membership & competition database systems;
  5. Ability to work independently and part of broader team;
  6. Experience in delivery of volunteer services and club administration;
  7. Preparedness to be flexible in respect to work hours;
  8. A current "C" class WA driver's license;
  9. National police clearance; and
  10. Working with Children Check.
Desirable Criteria
  1. Knowledge of the sport of athletics.
  2. Relevant qualification in sports management, recreation or education.
  3. An understanding of the community sport landscape in WA.
Hours of Work

The role is a part-time permanent position working 3 days (22.5 hours) per week.

Due to the nature of this position out of hours and weekend work will be required and may include interstate and overseas.

This role may have scope to expand to a full-time position in the future.

Salary

A salary package of $55,000 to $65,000 plus superannuation (pro-rata) will be negotiated with the successful applicant, dependent on level of experience.
