About Orthonova at St John of God Murdoch Hospital

Orthonova is a collaboration between St John of God Health Care and a group of Perth's leading orthopaedic surgeons and will deliver a superbly comfortable, individualised patient experience, underpinned by the highest standards of clinical quality and safety.

Opening in early 2027, the centre will set the standard for quality orthopaedic care, supported by clinician input and world-leading technology. The vision is to build a unique centre which is the benchmark in expert, personalised orthopaedic care and education, and at the forefront of technology and sustainability in healthcare.

Once complete the centre will comprise of:

  • Four contemporary operating theatres

  • 38 overnight beds

  • 20 chair day procedure and day of surgery lounge

  • A dedicated entry and seamless support services integrated with St John of God Murdoch Hospital with the two hospitals connected via a linking bridge

The new state of the art facility will have a unique presence in the growing Murdoch precinct that will embody sustainability and technology while delivering an unmatched patient experience.

Your role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst with expertise in digitising healthcare processes to contribute to the development of efficient, effective and streamlined digital workflows. 

Working within a dynamic healthcare environment, the role will partner with clinical, technical and operational teams to deliver solutions that optimise workflows, enhance patient experience and foster a contemporary and connected working environments.

The Position

  • Collaborate with clinical, corporate and operational teams to understand business needs, translating these into functional requirements and process workflows.

  • Develop and maintain detailed system and process maps, ensuring traceability in decision making throughout program lifecycle.

  • Develop detailed technical documentation to support integration designs and data mapping, ensuring alignment to SJGHC cybersecurity and data policies.

  • Collaborate with external vendors and internal IT teams to ensure system configuration is in line with target state process.

  • Identify process gaps or inefficiencies and suggest actionable solutions to improve productivity and reduce errors.

  • Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring solutions meet acceptance criteria, maintain low defect rates and resolve critical issues promptly.

  • Assisting, where necessary, in the production of test cases, test scripts, training materials, quick reference guides and communications as necessary.

  • Working with Orthonova and SJGHC teams to design best fit solutions in line with current and future state technology available and aligning with the strategic plan.

  • Contributing to the ongoing improvement of technical level documentation standards.

  • Providing deployment support and guidance to stakeholders.

You will be proficient in analysing and documenting clinical and administrative workflows using tools such as BPMN, Visio, or equivalent with proven ability to document and interpret system interfaces, data flows and application dependencies across diverse systems.

You will have experience in defining data sources, structures and transformations to ensure accuracy, integrity and interoperability between systems. You will also demonstrate strong skills in delivering clear accurate and audience appropriate documentation for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Additionally, proficiency in developing test scenarios, validating system functionality and supporting User Acceptance Testing (UAT) will be essential for the role.

To succeed you will hold a relevant tertiary qualification in Business Analysis, Information Systems, Computer Science or related discipline with three years industry experience as a Business Analyst in healthcare technology projects with a high-level of complexity. You will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to the senior stakeholders within the business, contribute to a team orientated, collaborative environment, whilst developing and maintaining stakeholder partnerships.
