About Us
HNEMH provides a wide range of mental health services throughout the Hunter New England Health district, supported by over 1,600 staff. Our care spans all ages and levels—from early intervention to inpatient and community-based recovery services. We're dedicated to providing person-centred care, advancing research, and fostering education and training across all disciplines.

  • Visiting Medical Officer with Manning Mental Health Service (Taree): Serving the Lower Mid-North Coast with inpatient care at Manning Hospital and a range of community services.
  • Staff Specialist with Greater Newcastle Mental Health Service: Delivering inpatient care at the Mater Mental Health Centre in Waratah and community services across Newcastle and Charlestown.

Consultant psychiatrists work collaboratively and may provide peer support and cross-cover across the Greater Newcastle and Lake Macquarie regions.
