We're looking for an dynamic Town Planner to join our collaborative Parramatta office. If you're driven by the challenge of balancing growth, community, and the environment — this is your chance to make a real impact.
What You'll Do
You'll work across a diverse range of projects, providing planning advice and preparing documentation that drives quality outcomes. Your responsibilities will include:
- Statement of Environmental Effects: Prepare clear, comprehensive reports assessing the environmental impact of proposed developments — including Clause 4.6 Variations — in accordance with the EP&A Act, EPIs, DCPs, practice notes and relevant guidelines.
- Planning Proposals: Develop detailed scoping reports and planning proposals aligned with local and regional planning strategies.
- Coordinating Technical Specialists: Brief and manage a range of technical specialists to deliver integrated, multidisciplinary planning solutions.
- Land and Environment Court Appeal Matters: Provide expert town planning input for Class 1 appeal matters and assist with preparation of evidence and documentation.
- Site Development Analysis: Investigate sites for highest and best use and prepare detailed reports for clients outlining site constraints and opportunities.
What You'll Bring
- Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Town or Urban Planning, Environmental Law or Geography.
- Experience: A minimum of 3-4 years of proven experience in town planning with a strong track record in writing statements of environmental effects and related planning reports within the NSW planning system.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of NSW planning legislation, environmental policy, and development assessment processes.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distil complex planning concepts into clear, concise language.
- Work Rights: Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required for this position.
