Westug is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Stores / Warehouse Assistant to join on a casual basis, up to 2 – 3 times a week to work out of our Dampier and Cape Lambert workshops. We are offering $45 – $50 an hour depending on skills and experience.

This role is residential only. You must reside in the greater Karratha area or relocate if successful.

About the Role:

The Stores/warehouse Assistant is responsible for maintaining and assisting with warehouse facilities and supporting the purchasing function in an efficient and effective manner. Some key accountabilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Forklift operations
  • Freight preparation
  • Load & unload stock, allocate parts as required in stores
  • Support stock take activities (across ports)
  • Safely handle & store grease, lubricants & paint
  • Fortnightly stock counts (Paint, Filters, Oils etc.)
  • Workshop organisation / storing
  • Data entry (word, excel, outlook)
  • Conduct general yard & workshop housekeeping to maintain clean, safe and efficient work environment
  • Collection & delivery of parts and consumables to the workplace where required
  • Supporting the Maintenance Supervisor, Planner & Purchasing Lead to deliver high levels of maintenance schedule compliance
  • Provide support/relief to the Purchasing Lead and other Ad-Hoc duties as required

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Forklift ticket (required) and a Heavy Rigid licence (favourable)
  • C Class Driver's License required
  • Basic computer skills required
  • Experience in the storage and issuance of chemicals and associated safety requirements (e.g. storage requirements, compatibility and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
  • Attention to detail and accurate data entry skills are essential
  • Experience in storekeeping procedures is essential
  • Experience with SAP – RTIO database favourable. (Grease, lubricant orders)
