Come Work With Us
Are you an experienced mental health clinician who loves working with the elderly and are you looking for an exciting opportunity with a new and innovative program?
The Specialist Dementia Care Program (SDCP) is an Australian Government initiative that provides care for people exhibiting severe to very severe behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia, who are unable to be appropriately cared for by mainstream residential aged care facilities (RACF). The SDCP offers specialised, transitional residential support, focussing on reducing or stabilising symptoms over time, with the aim of enabling people to move to less intensive care settings. In NSW, specialist clinical support is provided by NSW Health Older Persons Mental Health Services.
The objectives of the role are to provide specialist clinical support, behavioural and treatment advice for residents, in collaboration with SDCP unit staff and General Practitioners; to provide expert clinical consultation and liaison to referring services across NSW; to consult on education and training needs, and provide supportive education, modelling and mentoring for SDCP staff in collaboration with HammondCare, and to contribute to assessments of consumers referred to the SDCP.
If this resonates with you, we will welcome your application
For more information we encourage you to contact Lara Coates on
Interviews are expected to be held between 1 December 2025 and 5 December 2025
