About this Role

At Enable Hub we are looking for compassionate Disability Support Worker – Advanced Role with Training who are looking to apply their talents and efforts in helping the community members who most need it.

Main duties/responsibilities

  • Support clients to participate in age-appropriate activities and tasks including employment, in-home support and community access.
  • Provide direct assistance to each client in accordance with their individual care plan, which also include activities of daily living and personal care.
  • Support clients to access activities and outings in the community.
  • Work in accordance with the medication administration policy, work health and safety procedures and client rights.
  • Participate in the Lifestyle Service Planning process for individual clients and monitor outcomes.
  • Work with clients, family/carers, relevant case managers and other professionals to support the client's individual goals.
  • Liaise extensively with the Enable Hub team to ensure the provision of safe and client- care.
  • Report regularly to the manager, and provide a written report of the shift daily.
  • Updated knowledge and information about the contents of the NDIS system and provide care accordingly.

Qualifications

  • Certificate III or IV in Aged care or Disability or Nursing
  • Driving License of Australia
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Working with Children Check
  • Current Criminal Record Check (within 1 year)
  • CPR and Current First Aid Certification (within 1 year)

Desirable competencies and experiences:

  • Minimum 2 years in disability or community support (can include overseas experience or placements). Experience with complex disabilities is highly regarded.
  • Bilingual skills (especially Indonesian language) and experience working with children or CALD communities are a plus.
  • Master of Social Work (completed or in-progress) OR Bachelor's degree with 3+ years disability support experience.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of disability support practices, excellent communication and documentation skills, ability to mentor others, and knowledge of trauma-informed care approaches
  • Demonstrated proficient written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision, and collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage time, priorities and organize work / caseload.
  • Demonstrated commitment to personal and professional development, quality improvement.
