Brisbane, Queensland, Australia The Pool Tile Company Pty Ltd Full time $60,000 - $80,000 per year

Our production facility located within the Brisbane Airport Precinct generates stock and actions customer orders for customised edging, cutting and detailed design works with machinery including bridge and gang saws, bullnose edging, polishing, and water jet-cutting machines.

We are looking for a Maintenance Fitter to perform ongoing preventative, corrective and break-down maintenance in addition to machinery overhauls, installations and assembly change-outs.  This role is critical to the optimisation of production efficiencies and minimising production disruption.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Undertaking maintenance to optimise machinery downtime.
  • Continuously improving plant throughput, reduction of equipment breakdowns and identifying improvements.
  • Troubleshooting mechanical faults, production breakdowns, production start-ups and operating settings.
  • Developing jigs, gauges and modifications to improve accuracy and throughput.
  • Working with the Production team to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Metal fabrication of stands, benches, display racks as needed.
  • Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with site safety, health, environmental and company policies, systems and procedures.

Skills and Experience:

  • A trade qualification as a Fitter and Turner, (or equivalent) or extensive experience working as a Fitter and Turner in lieu of a trade qualification.
  • Experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial plant environment together with welding and fabrication experience.
  • Mechanically minded with strong ability to troubleshoot and problem solve mechanical issues.
  • Experience in reading technical drawings, CAD experience (advantageous).
  • Restricted Electrical Licence (REL) (advantageous).
  • A strong work ethic, self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised.
  • Availability to work varied shift starts, Monday to Friday.
