The Opportunity

We are looking for experienced Maintenance Fitter to join our client a successful long running 100% Australian manufacturer of world class steel products for over 45years. Reporting to the engineering manager your role is to provide effective maintenance and repair of plant and equipment to achieve plant reliability, cost, safety, and quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Preventative maintenance with a focus on safety and maximising production
  • Breakdown repair work to minimise downtime
  • Install new equipment and relocate exisiting
  • Maintaining a range of equipment involved in metal machining and milling
  • Contribute to continuous improvement
  • Adherence safety policies and procedures
  • Participation in tool box and team meetings and maintain workplace relationships
  • Support the training and development of apprentices through mentoring

You will need

  • Formal trade qualifications as a Mechanical fitter and Turner
  • Minimum 3 years mechanical fitting experience working in a heavy industrial environment.
  • Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics would be highly regarded
  • Good communication skills
  • The ability to work in a team environment
  • Maintain and use mechanical equipment as designed and effectively diagnose, and fault-find mechanical equipment

This is a full time permanent position with a good hourly rate and overtime available. Stable company with a long term staff and a long history of quality Australian made products.
