About the role

We're seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join us as Manager Governance & Elected Member Services. Reporting to the CEO, you will lead the City's governance, risk and assurance functions, oversee legal services, and provide high-quality support to our Elected Members.

This role is all about building trust, transparency and capability — ensuring the City is well governed today while preparing a welcoming and thriving City for tomorrow. You'll also lead the delivery of Council meetings, civic events and citizenship ceremonies that connect and celebrate our community.

About you

You are a strategic thinker, trusted advisor, and people-focused leader. You bring:

  • A deep understanding of governance, risk management and assurance in complex organisations.
  • Through your qualifications in law, governance or a related field, demonstrated experience managing legal, compliance or regulatory functions.
  • The ability to work with influence and diplomacy, particularly with elected members and senior stakeholders.
  • A leadership style that builds collaboration, connection and capability.
