Your new role

Reporting to the Senior Manager Corporate Affairs and Media, the
Manager Corporate Affairs and Media Projects
is responsible for developing reputation management strategies and plans to position, promote, and protect the reputation of the Fund and provide communications support for key Fund-wide projects.

The role also includes developing positioning to promote and protect the reputation of the Fund through targeted and proactive media and communication strategies and issues management.

Key duties include but are not limited to:

  • Plan, develop and implement media strategies that support reputational drivers - products & services, innovation, workplace, governance, public policy issues, leadership, and investment performance.
  • Work to ensure the Fund's Reputation Management Framework is embedded across the organisation and underpins our approach to maintaining trust with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work on forward plans for significant events and issues that will affect the Fund's reputation.
  • Work with the Manager Media to develop, implement, monitor, maintain and evolve a multi-channel Media Relations Strategy for the Fund.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to drive earned media in finance sector and industry media.
  • Prepare executives for interviews and speaking opportunities with media and coordinate media training for Board, Executives and Senior Leadership Network.
  • Identify opportunities with Government Relations & Public Policy, Investment Relations, and other groups, for fund advocacy and develop media and external engagement strategies to support this.
  • Provide expert counsel and mitigation strategies in response to issues or crises that have the potential to materially impact the reputation and performance of the Fund.
  • Ensure risk is managed in accordance with the Fund's Risk Management Framework including risk identification and management, risk profiling, risk reporting and incident management.

What you'll need

  • Extensive, demonstrable experience within a newsroom.
  • Demonstrated experience developing Media, External Engagement, Issues and Crisis Management Strategies and Plans.
  • Attention to detail and ability to deliver quality outcomes under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a range of people at all levels across the business.
  • Strong strategic and analytical abilities.
  • Proactive attitude and a willingness to problem solve.
