ABOUT THE ROLE

Barker College is currently seeking to appoint a suitably qualified, experienced, innovative and enthusiastic Junior School Specialist Teacher - Italian (PK to Year 6) located at the Hornsby Campus.

This will be Permanent Full-Time (1.0FTE) role commencing in Term

Barker College runs a new staff orientation on the 22 and 23 January 2026.

The School is an authorised International Baccalaureate Organisation (IBO) World School offering the Primary Years Program with a focus on Inquiry Learning from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6.  Specialist Subject Teachers are expected to support the implementation of inquiry pedagogy and experience in this area would be an advantage.

The successful applicants will be able to demonstrate a track record of:

· Working and contributing to a team

· An ability to deliver engaging lessons

· An ability to plan and implement an integrated curriculum;

· An understanding of inquiry learning and its relationship to syllabus documents;

· Confidence and competence in the use of ICT in teaching and learning;

· An enthusiasm for continued professional learning.

All teaching staff participate in the School's extensive Pastoral Care and co-curricular programs.  The ability to coach team sports is highly desirable.
