Rochedale South State School and Loganholme State School are seeking two Psychologists to join their team.

Please note Rochedale South State School and Loganholme State School positions could be combined to make 0.65 FTE position combined or 0.35 (Rochedale South SS) or 0.3 (Loganholme SS) as individual positions.

This role is a permanent part-time position with South East Region Wellbeing Workforce. The successful applicant will relieve at level at the appointed school. Please note, permanency is to region and relieving arrangements are subject to change (though this is rare).

Rochedale South State School

Rochedale South State School is a Prep to Year 6 co-ed primary school in Rochedale South, offering a strong academic program with a focus on literacy, numeracy, science, and Mandarin. The school provides a supportive environment with well-kept grounds and dedicated play areas.

Loganholme State School

Loganholme State School is a primary school in Logan City known for its safe, inclusive learning environment. It focuses on core academic skills, student leadership, and strong community connections to help students grow and achieve.

Every day, you'll apply your clinical knowledge and decision-making to deliver targeted therapeutic interventions that address mild to moderate mental health needs of students and make a positive impact in the lives of children and young people. Collaborating with key school staff and working directly with students and families, you'll support the mental health needs of students, ensure exceptional service standards, and contribute to innovative approaches in supporting the needs of young people in an education setting. Through mentorship, leadership, and community engagement, your role will profoundly impact the lives of families while advancing professional practices.

Responsibilities include:

  • Undertake individual and group counselling and therapeutic interventions with students, parents and families to assist them in resolving personal or relationship concerns.
  • Provide advice on diagnoses provided by external professionals and monitor students' progress.
  • Administer specialised psycho-educational assessment of students with learning and/or adjustment difficulties including assessments of cognitive, academic, behavioural, emotional, social and adaptive functioning.
