Lead Civil Designer

Resourcing this study from Australia reflects Stantec's strategy to increase its focus on major projects, strengthening capability in the local resources sector while contributing to global delivery. As a flagship project, its successful outcome will provide strong visibility within Stantec and open doors to future opportunities, both in Australia and across their global network.

About the Project

This large-scale greenfield development is progressing through its Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS), with early works and execution phases to follow.

The project presents the complexities typical of major gold and copper developments in the region:

  • Challenging terrain and climate, requiring robust planning for bulk earthworks and logistics
  • Remote location, with procurement of critical items and infrastructure central to study success
  • Complex supply chains, with equipment and materials to be sourced internationally across Asia, Europe, and China
  • Local regulatory frameworks, where accurate study inputs and vendor engagement are critical to project approvals

About the Role

As Lead Civil Designer, you will support the development of study-level deliverables across bulk earthworks, flood, drainage, hydrology, NPI, and port facilities. Responsibilities include:

  • Producing design deliverables for bulk earthworks, drainage, hydrology, NPI, and port infrastructure
  • Contributing to study-level design work that can be refined during execution

  • Proficiency with either Civil 3D or OpenRoads essential

  • Working alongside engineers and designers across multiple offices to maintain consistency of approach

About You

We are seeking Civil Designers with:

· Strong design capability in bulk earthworks, drainage, hydrology, NPI, and port facilities

· Hands-on experience with Autodesk (Civil 3D preferred) or Bentley OpenRoads

· Prior experience supporting feasibility study deliverables for mining or large infrastructure projects

· Ability to adapt study-level outcomes for refinement during detailed design and execution

· Collaborative approach to working across offices and disciplines

Roster & Conditions

  • Monday to Friday, based in East Perth
  • Hybrid work options – up to 1-day WFH per week
  • Hours: 40 per week plus approved overtime
