Our Story
Our business was founded in 2002 where Hume began supplying to local fit out companies, installers and contractors. From the beginning, our organisation has always valued reliability and great service. These are the characteristics we look for in employees to ensure Hume is consistently providing a great customer experience.
Hume has become well established in the building materials sector and has 8 stores in NSW and VIC. Our speciality is supplying a wide range of building products to builders, architects, developers, etc. We are able to supply leading brand products and resolutions for residential, commercial and industrial building projects. To continue Hume's growth, we are searching for a dynamic and motivated Account Manager to join our sales team.

The remuneration package will include a base salary (depending on experience), a company mobile phone, a tablet and a travel or car allowance.

Your Main Duties
We are looking for someone who, put simply, has the ability to sell. The successful person will need to demonstrate capability in:
- Site visits upon request from external and internal stakeholders
- Develop and maintain a current, in-depth product and work knowledge on our full product range
- Creatively source new ideas, new products and innovative ways to capture new business and promote profitable growth
- Providing sales quotes and estimates
- Maintaining an up-to-date diary (CRM based), which includes sale calls, meetings and follow up dates
- Maintaining up to date knowledge on market outlook, category pricing and sale pricing
- Liaising and following up with customers and contractors to ensure excellent service
- Managing customer accounts proactively to ensure demand can be anticipated and solutions can be provided.
- Building and maintaining relationships with new and existing customers
What You Can Bring
- Minimum 3 years of Sales experience in the Building and Construction industry, further training will be provided
- A proven track record of exceeding sales targets and KPIs
- A strategic mindset
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to effectively build rapport and maintain networks/relationships with developers, stakeholders and customers
- Ability to be a team player but also work independently
- Attention to detail and organisational skills
- Experience using a CRM system
- A positive attitude towards challenges and the willingness to go the extra mile.
- Excellent memory to learn our extensive product range
- Your own work vehicle (essential)
