54 reasons is Australia's leading child rights organisation – no ordinary not-for-profit.
Proudly part of the Save the Children Australia Group and global movement, we're here to make sure that children and young people have their rights met and thrive, in all their diversity.
With the child's voice at the centre, we provide quality services to children and their caregivers in every state and territory, and across regions, remote areas and capital cities. From our programs to our support services - this is the place to realise your purpose.
A place to make a difference:
In this permanent, part time position (19.5 hours per week, through to 30th June 2026 with possibility for extension), you'll be part of the team delivering Play2Learn playgroups across Bankstown LGA NSW. Reporting to the Team Leader, Metropolitan NSW, you'll ideally be based in or around Bankstown LGA, with a willingness to travel in the Sydney metropolitan region.
You will make a difference by:
- Building family capacity by using partnership, outcomes based, strengths' perspective and client-centred approaches
- Identifying where additional assistance and external services are required, providing appropriate information, support and referrals
- Collaborating with team members to deliver programs and support services, promoting positive and culturally respectful approaches to parenting, and child and family wellbeing
- Providing holistic case management, delivering support to vulnerable and disadvantaged clients and supporting relationships for favourable client outcomes
- Identifying strengths, establishing goals for the program and reviewing clients progress towards these goals
A place to feel valued:
You're truly passionate about standing up for children, and your cultural and local community knowledge will help you build strong connections with people from a variety of cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. You have empathy, a 'can-do attitude' and an infectious enthusiasm for your job.
This role requires:
- Degree/Diploma qualification in a relevant field such as Psychology, Social Work, Human Services or Social Sciences, or significant equivalent experience
- Experience in working with low socio-economic and socially or geographically isolated families
- Proven experience in using trauma informed practice
- Demonstrated experience in using a strength-based approach when working with families
A place to belong:
At 54 reasons, we invest in the development and wellbeing of our people. Our workforce is approximately 600 people strong, and proudly diverse, whether in race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, sexuality, cultures and beliefs.
It takes all types of people to do the challenging work we do. We are diverse personalities, backgrounds and talents, embracing our differences as one strong and united team.
