Acromat, Australia's leading manufacturer of sporting equipment and retractable tiered seating is seeking a keen and enthusiastic apprentice fabrication structural steel / first class welder.

As an Acromat apprentice, even though this will probably be your entry point to paid work, you are highly valued and treated as a responsible adult. Your apprenticeship is for four years and during that period you will work on site as well as attend TAFE College during your first three years.

Every opportunity is given along the way for you, as a young and developing person, for self-development in learning your trade and implementing safe working methods. The combination of practical and structured training provides a solid foundation for your future. By the time you have completed your apprenticeship, you will be a first class tradesperson with wide experience within the trade.

You will enjoy working closely with experienced tradespeople who are experts in their field whilst gaining first hand experience and quality 'on the job' guidance.  In addition, you will enjoy a variety of tasks and responsibilities and work with a diverse range of clients.

Ideally you will:

* Be interested in light steel fabrication and welding and in interpreting and working from drawings.

* Have a 'can do' attitude and a willingness to learn.

* Be enthusiastic and reliable and a great team person.

* Have a good aptitude for maths at year 11 level.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4.10pm with an RDO and you must be able to work afternoon shifts, overtime and Saturdays on an 'as required' basis to meet production needs.
