We are looking for a Paid Search Specialist, with a strong background in Google Ads to join our SEM department.

What We're Looking ForSuccess in this role isn't just about knowing the numbers—it's about knowing how to use them. We need someone who can not only drive performance through smart strategy and optimisations, but also create and communicate clear, compelling insights for clients and stakeholders. Our clients are some of Australia's most sophisticated brands. They expect partners who understand the commercial realities of large-scale ecommerce. You'll need to confidently lead conversations with senior marketers, present data-backed recommendations, and clearly explain how search performance connects to business outcomes like margin, inventory movement, and customer growth. You understand that marketing metrics don't always move in the same direction, and you can explain why. When a client wants to rapidly scale spend and improve ROAS at the same time, you can lead the conversation with data, commercial logic, and calm expectation-setting.
The ability to think critically and communicate confidently is what will make you thrive in this role.
To succeed, you'll need at least 3 years of hands-on experience in a Google Ads-specific role, ideally agency side, managing and optimising multiple accounts with significant budgets.
We need someone who:
Hit the ground running – You'll take ownership of a portfolio of major clients from day one, building trust quickly and soon be operating as if you've managed them for years.
Understands SEM at a deep level – You don't just manage campaigns, you strategise, test, and optimise for maximum impact.
Thinks beyond the numbers – You use data to tell a story, translating performance insights into clear, actionable recommendations for clients.
Collaborates with SEO & Content – You see how paid and organic search work together and can leverage both to drive results.
Communicates with confidence – You're experienced in presenting to senior stakeholders, running client WIPs, and leading discussions about search strategy.
This role is ideal if you have 3 years agency experience as an SEM Specialist, have worked with large retail focused clients, and were in a role where you were both the communication lead and the implementer.
What You'll Be Doing- Managing high-spend, enterprise-level Google Ads accounts, optimising for performance and efficiency.
- Developing data-driven SEM strategies aligned with client objectives
- Optimising budgets, bids, and audience targeting to maximise ROAS
- Analysing trends & performance data using GA4, Looker Studio & Power BI
- Overseeing Google Shopping, Merchant Center, and feed management
- Creating & presenting strategy decks for key stakeholders
- Leading client meetings, explaining performance & opportunities
- Translating performance into clear, commercial insights for clients and senior stakeholders.
- Mentoring junior SEM team members and contributing to team knowledge-sharing
Bonus points if you have experience with forecasting, Power BI reporting, or Google Tag Manager basics
